Please note that Mezu and its services will no longer be available as of August 11, 2020.
You must add a payment method to your Mezu account in order to use the Pay feature in the event you don't have enough balance to cover for the transaction. Currently, acceptable payment methods include personal checking accounts validated within our system or debit cards.
You may add/remove bank accounts and debit cards at any time via the Main Menu as follows:
To add a debit card:
- Go to the Main Menu
- Select "Payment Methods"
- Select "Add Bank or Card"
- Select "Debit Card"
- Enter your debit card details
- Select the "NEXT" button
- When your screen displays "CARD ADDED," the card is linked with your Mezu account
(Note: Be sure that your card has sufficient funds. In order to verify your card, Mezu will need to charge $0.01 to the card, which will be immediately voided. This may appear as two transactions on your card statement.)
To add a bank account:
- Go to the Main Menu
- Select "Payment Methods"
- Select the "Add Bank or Card"
- Select "Bank Account," choose your bank from the list or use the search. (If your bank is not listed, follow add a bank account manually steps listed below.)
- Login using your mobile banking credentials
- Select the bank account you want to link to your Mezu account
- Confirm the bank account number
If prompted by the App you may need to add a bank account manually:
- Enter the routing number
- Enter the account number
- Ensure that the routing and account number you have entered is accurate
- Use the add account button to confirm
(Note: If you add your bank account manually, you will only be able to use it to withdraw funds from your Mezu account, but not to Load funds)
To delete a card or bank account
- Go to the Main Menu
- Select "Payment Methods"
- Select an existing card or account and select "Remove"
- Click "OK" and the card or account will be deleted
Default payment method
If you have added more than one payment method, you can choose the one that should be used by the app to pull funds into your account if you want to pay using an amount more than your current Mezu Account balance.
If you delete your default payment method but retain other valid payment methods, the app will automatically select the last bank account/card added that is valid as your default payment method.
