In order to Get Paid by a person you don’t know, the person paying (the guy buying your old couch from a resale site, for example) and the person getting paid (you!) must be within close proximity to each other. To keep things simple, Mezu creates 4-digit codes based on a small location radius. Therefore, when using this functionality, make sure you are in close proximity to the other person.
To Get Paid:
- Make sure the person paying has used the "Pay > with a CashCode" feature on their app and shares the random, 4-digit transaction code, which is generated on the payer’s app and used by you to complete the transaction.
- Once the 4-digit code has been provided to you, tap "Get Paid” on the home screen of your Mezu app and select "from a CashCode." Enter the 4-digit transaction code. That’s it – no sharing your phone number, email address, or any other info you’d rather keep to yourself.
Mezu will confidentially hold the records on the users involved in each transaction. The only record of transaction available to both of you will be information regarding the amount, location, date and time. To view this, select the Transaction option from the app menu.
Mezu follows a strict anti-fraud policy. In order to prevent fraud and protect our Mezu community, each failed payment attempt may count as a possible fraud attempt. After 7 failed attempts in a row, your Mezu account will be temporarily locked. If you continue to enter invalid codes, your account will continue to be locked for increasing amounts of time, and your account may be subject to closure.
